Tammy's Broken Beans and How I Haven't Lost Hope in People or the Web.

Well, the Colorado shooting is still fresh in our minds and just yesterday, some lunatic gunned down innocent people in a Sikh temple not too far away from where I live. Add that to the almost regular bombings in the middle east, run of the mill violence, and overall despicable stuff you read in the daily news, and it's easy to come up with the following assumption:

People suck.

It's not hard to paint the world in that shade of stink, especially for me. But this past week, I received a big reminder that there are good people out there. In fact, I'm surrounded by them and they outnumber the bad guys with a pretty healthy margin. They just don't make the news very often.

Let's face it - the internet is a pretty seedy place as well. Even if you don't count the porn, just think of all the nasty comments, name calling, "cyber-bullying," photos mocking people, crude videos, and overall useless, worthless crap filling every corner of the internet.

That's why it's so refreshing to be reminded of how the internet can be used for good and just how amazingly effective it can be. Say what you will about Facebook, but it's an amazing tool for getting the word out for something important to you.

Tammy's Broken Beans isn't even a week old and we've already reached 25% of our goal. We are amazed at the generosity of all these people that are willing to help us out. Not only the donations, which are incredible, but all the kind words of encouragement as well. They are really helping Tammy out more than you can know.

Thanks for everything you've done to help us out so far. Even a simple click of a button to forward a link to help promote this is huge and much appreciated. Thanks most of all for reminding this cynic that there are good people still out there.

You can't hear it, but I'm shouting into my keyboard as loud as I can - Thank you!

So happy to hear that you are already at 25%! That is great. I think I speak for everyone when I say that I wish I could have given more! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!

Watched your dialysis video. I have PKD and will start training for home dialysis in one month. A little freaked out. Did you ever find a donor? I have been looking as well for about 8 months I am A positive. Thanks for sharing your story
